Cookies and Cream Birthday Cake Idea
This birthday cake recipe can be used for kids birthdays but also for grown up birthdays. With this cake recipe you can make 24 cupcakes. You will need the following ingredients:
1 package 2 layer size white cake mix
1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies with a white filling
Creamy white frosting
24 chocolate sandwich cookies with white filling
Preparation:Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line 2,5 inch muffin cups with paper bake cups and set them aside. Prepare the cake mix according to the directions on the package. Now fold the crushed cookies into the batter, than spoon the batter into the prepared cups. Fill each cup for 50 %.
Bake the cakes according to the directions on the package. Now the cakes need to be cooled down for 5 minutes, after this you can remove the cupcakes from the pan and let them cool down completely. You are ready to put the creamy white frosting on each cupcake. When you are finished with the creamy white frosting you can put a miniature cookie on each cake to finish it.
To create the creamy white frosting you have to combine 0,5 cup shortening and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Mix it with an electric mixer for 30 seconds. Now slowly add 1,5 cup powdered sugar and mix it for another 30 seconds. Now add 1 tablespoon of milk and 1 cup powdered sugar. Mix it again and put in some additional milk to make the frosting spreadable.
