This knitting cake consists of a large knitting ball with two knitting needles stuck into it and then on the platter that holds the cake. You can inscribe any kind of birthday greeting that you would like with your icing decoration. To top it off sprinkle some smarties or other icing blots throughout the canvas. The knitting needles can be made from something scrumptious like sticks of licorice. If you like you can feed the licorice into straws to hold them straight, or just put the two licorice into the knitting ball and let them hang loose. That would work as well.
